For children in their kindergarten year, afternoons provide extended time to get deeply engaged with activities that interest them and help in their development. This is a special time when they work among peers with special guidance from the Montessori teacher. Children get into more advanced work in language and math and get to realize special projects that require more concentration and will. In the final year in the Children’s House student’s previous experiences are consolidated and expanded upon through being “models” or “leaders,” for the younger children. They draw upon their previous years of preparation for this full blossoming in the last year of Montessori’s Primary cycle.

At the end of the year they graduate and bid us farewell to enter first grade.
